Geo and device targeting: send visitors to the right page automatically
Sometimes one destination doesn't fit everyone. An iOS user should land in the App Store; an Android user in Google Play. A shopper in the EU should hit your EU store, not the US one. Geo and device targeting lets a single short link do all of that automatically.
What you can route on
- Country: send US visitors to us-store, EU visitors to eu-store, everyone else to a default.
- Device / OS: iOS to the App Store, Android to Google Play, desktop to your web app.
- Language: match the visitor's browser language to the right localised page.
How it works
You add rules to the link: "if country = DE, go here; if device = iOS, go there; otherwise the default." When someone clicks, the redirect checks the request and picks the matching destination in milliseconds, before the visitor notices. The link you shared never changes; only where it lands does.
Common use cases
- One app link in your bio that routes to the right app store.
- One campaign link that respects regional stores and pricing.
- One support link that sends each region to its local help centre.
Privacy note
Country is derived from the visitor's IP at the moment of the click, at the country level rather than precise location, and Urlicer doesn't store the raw IP. It's the same cookieless approach as the analytics. Targeting is available on Urlicer's higher tiers; see pricing.
