Unmetered QR codes ยท Members without a sales call

A Bitly alternative that doesn't meter your QR codes

Bitly counts QR codes monthly: two on the free plan, ten at $29. Multi-user access it sells only through its Enterprise sales team. Here, every link has a QR code, and members start at $12 a month.

  • Import nothing: old Bitly links keep working
  • Free plan with no card and no ads
  • Cookieless analytics, hosted in the EU

The three limits people leave over

Bitly figures checked on their pricing page, 3 September 2026.

QR codes are metered

Two a month on Bitly's free plan, five on Core, ten on Growth. What a monthly allowance means for a code you are about to print is worth reading on their plan before you commit to it. Here a QR code is part of the link, not a separate allowance.

Team access is Enterprise

User management, group permissions, SSO and the activity log sit on Bitly's Enterprise plan, behind a sales call. Three members with roles are included here at $12 a month.

One domain, then Enterprise

Bitly includes a single custom domain from Growth at $29, and more than one is Enterprise again. Two domains start at $12 here, and ten come with the $29 plan.

Our column is read from the live plan catalogue, so it cannot drift from the pricing page. Bitly's column was checked by hand on 3 September 2026.

Bitly's prices are the annual-billing figures shown on their pricing page on 3 September 2026. Ours above are monthly; paid yearly, Pro is $120 and Team is $290. Bitly counts links, QR codes and custom back-halves per month, so an unused month does not carry over. Our link figures are how many can exist on the account at once, which is why the two columns are worded differently.

When Bitly is the better choice

Four places it wins, so you find them here rather than a week in.

  • Bitly does not cap clicks. Every Bitly plan counts clicks without a monthly limit. We meter tracked clicks. The free plan stops recording after 25,000 a month, Pro after 250,000, Team after 2,500,000. Links keep redirecting either way, so nothing breaks; it is the analytics that stop. If one campaign can outrun that, price it before you switch.
  • No city-level data here. We report country, device, browser, referrer and OS on every plan, including free. We do not report cities. Bitly does, on Premium at $199.
  • No SSO. If your company requires single sign-on, Bitly Enterprise has it and we do not.
  • Recognition and integrations. bit.ly has been around since 2008. Recipients know it, security filters know it, and Bitly's integration catalogue is far larger than ours. That is a real advantage and it is not one we can claim.

And if a branded domain on its own is all you want, without members or workspaces, T.LY is about $10 a month for two domains and is a fair choice. The case for this one is the combination: domains, seats and unmetered QR codes in the same plan, without a sales call.

Switching without breaking anything

1

Leave your old links alone

Short links belong to the domain that serves them, so a bit.ly link can only be redirected by Bitly. Keep the account for as long as those links are in circulation.

2

Make new links here

On ivi.to, or on your own domain from Pro. Anything you print from now on is a link you control.

3

Move the ones that matter

Re-point the links still being shared: profile links, email footers, live campaigns. Paste or upload them in bulk on Pro, or use the API, which is on every plan including free.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import my Bitly links?
Not automatically. There is no Bitly importer today, and an import would not do what people usually hope. A bit.ly link resolves on Bitly's servers, so copying the list here would create new links, not take over the old ones. What an import saves is retyping, and bulk create on Pro covers that.
Is the QR limit really unlimited?
There is no separate QR allowance. Every short link has a QR code, on every plan, and the link limit is the only limit. Colours, shapes and a centre logo are available from the free plan; removing our mark from the frame starts on Team.
Do the links expire?
Links made inside an account do not expire on their own. Links made without signing in are removed after 30 days, so claim them to an account to keep them. From Pro you can also give a link a deliberate expiry date, after which it stops forwarding.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. The free plan needs an email address, carries no ads, and has links, QR codes, analytics and the API.
Will this add a cookie banner to my site? Is it GDPR-friendly?
The click analytics set no cookies and do not follow anyone between sites, so there is nothing to ask consent for. The visitor's IP address is never stored: it is hashed with a salt that rotates every day, which also means one visitor cannot be linked from one day to the next. Country, referrer domain, device, browser and OS are counted; individuals are not. Link tracking and GDPR works through the reasoning, and the privacy policy names every processor and what each one receives.
Where is the data stored?
The application, the database and the click analytics run on one server in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. Email is sent from a server in Helsinki. A few named third parties sit outside that, including the payment provider and the safe-browsing check run on destination URLs, and the privacy policy lists each of them by name.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, from Pro, which includes two. Team includes ten. Verification is two DNS records and the certificate is issued and renewed for you. Here is how that works.
Where do these Bitly numbers come from?
Bitly's own pricing page, read on 3 September 2026. Their table is drawn by JavaScript, so it has to be rendered rather than fetched. The longer comparison, including Bitly's Premium and Enterprise tiers, is in the full write-up.
