Privacy and cookies

Urlicer's click analytics don't use cookies. When someone follows a short link, the click is recorded with:

  • the country, worked out from the IP address (never the city)
  • the domain of the site the visitor came from
  • the device type, browser and operating system
  • whether the visit came from a QR scan or a direct click

IP addresses are hashed and never stored.

Two features set a cookie in the visitor's browser, and only on links that use them:

  • A/B rotation: a cookie that keeps a visitor on the same destination for 30 days. It stores only which destination they were given. See A/B rotation.
  • Password-protected links: after a visitor enters the password, a cookie lets them open the link again without it for one hour. See password-protect a link.

Signing in to the app uses a session cookie, and forms use a security cookie. Urlicer sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Urlicer's servers are in the EU, in a data center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Click history is deleted once it is older than your plan keeps it (see plans and limits). The full details are in our privacy policy.
