The browser extension

The Urlicer extension shortens the page you are on, or any link, without leaving it. The short link is copied for you, and its QR code is ready to download.

Add Urlicer to Chrome

Connect your account

1. Install the extension. A Urlicer page opens.
2. Sign in, or create a free account.
3. Pick a workspace and click Connect. There is no key to copy.

A new extension sits in your browser's extensions menu. Pin Urlicer to the toolbar so its icon is always there.

Shorten a page

Click the Urlicer icon, or press Alt+Shift+U, then click Shorten. The short link is copied, and the window shows its QR code, which you can download as a PNG. On Pro and above you can type a custom name first.

The same window lists your five newest links with their clicks. Click one to copy it.

Shorten a link from the right-click menu

Right-click any link and choose Shorten link with Urlicer, or right-click the page and choose Shorten this page with Urlicer. The short link is copied, and a notice in the corner of the page confirms it.

Disconnect or switch workspace

Click Disconnect in the extension to remove its key from your browser, then Connect again to choose another workspace. Only a workspace's owner or an Admin can connect it.

The key is an ordinary API key named "Browser extension". It counts towards your plan's keys, and revoking it on the Developers page disconnects the extension. If your plan has no key left, revoke one and connect again.
