QR codes that don't expire

Make the code in a free account and it keeps scanning. There is no trial that ends and no subscription to keep up, and you can still change where the code points after it is printed.

  • Free account, no card needed
  • No end date unless you set one
  • A scan goes straight to your page, with no ad in between
The QR code editor, with colours, a centre logo and a frame applied to a short link

No trial that ends

The free plan has no time limit. A code made in it doesn't stop when a trial runs out, because there is no trial.

Edit it after printing

Change where the code points at any time, on the free plan too. Every printed copy goes to the new page.

Count every scan

Analytics show QR scans apart from direct clicks, so you can see how many people scanned the print.

What could stop the code working?

The exact rules, so you know before you print.

  • No expiry date. A link in a workspace has no end date unless you give it one. Nothing switches it off after a quiet period or a plan change.
  • Over the plan's limit, it still scans. Plans limit how many clicks are counted each month. Past that, the code keeps working and only the counting stops until the next month.
  • Make it in an account. A link made on our home page without an account expires after 30 days, and its QR code stops with it. Don't print one of those.
  • Deleting it stops it. Deleting the link, or the account it belongs to, stops the code.
  • If Urlicer ever closes, you get at least 180 days' notice by email, export stays open on every plan, and links on our shared domain keep redirecting for at least a year after the closing date. This is in section 12 of the terms.

Why codes from other generators stop: do QR codes expire?

Never need to change it?

A static code holds your address in the pattern itself, so nothing can switch it off. It can't be edited or counted, though. Our generator makes one with no account.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a subscription to keep the code working?
No. Codes made in a free account keep working without a paid plan. Paid plans add more links each month, longer analytics and print files like SVG. Pricing.
What happens if I cancel a paid plan?
When the paid period ends, the account moves to the free plan. Your links are kept, so codes you have printed keep scanning. Click history older than 30 days is deleted, because the free plan keeps 30 days. Plans and limits.
Is there a limit on scans?
No. A plan limits how many links you create and how many clicks are counted each month, not how many times a code is scanned.
Which file should I send to the printer?
PNG is on every plan and is fine for most print. SVG, which stays sharp at any size, is on Pro and above. QR codes for print covers size and contrast.
Can I change the link after the code is printed?
Yes. Change the destination and the printed code opens the new page. The code itself stays the same. Dynamic QR codes.
