QR code for a Google Form

Put a survey, a sign-up sheet or an event check-in behind a code people can scan. Paste the form's link, style the code, download it. Free, no signup.

Which link to paste

Use the link Google Forms gives you for sharing the form with respondents, not the link to the editor. If you have a short forms.gle link, use that: the full form address is long, and a long address makes a dense code that is harder to scan from a distance.

When the form closes

Forms end: the survey has enough answers, the sign-up is full, next term needs a new form. A code made here keeps opening the old form, closed or not, for as long as the paper is on the wall.

A dynamic code points at a short link instead. When the form closes, send the same code to a "thanks, we're full" page, or to next term's form, without reprinting. It also counts the scans, so you can compare how many people scanned with how many answered.

Tips for forms

  • Check who can answer. If the form only accepts people signed in to your organisation, guests who scan it will be asked to sign in.
  • Test on a phone, signed out, before printing: that is how most people will open it.
  • Say what it is next to the code, such as "Feedback, 2 minutes", so people know why to scan.
